What you need to know

Opening hours

April 1 – October 14: 8:30 AM – 8:00 PM

October 15 – March 31: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM

Nasrid Palaces have timed entry slots every 30 minutes.

Getting there

The Alhambra sits on the Sabika hill overlooking Granada. Walk up from Plaza Nueva (25 min), take the C3/C4 bus from the city centre, or drive to the main car park at the Pavilion entrance.

Tips for your visit

Arrive at least 1 hour before your Nasrid Palace time slot — the complex is large and it takes time to walk from the entrance. Remember to be punctual: access to the Nasrid Palaces is strictly at the time shown on your ticket. The rest of the monument can be visited freely during opening hours.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

The Alhambra General ticket includes everything: the Nasrid Palaces (with a timed entry slot), Generalife gardens, Alcazaba fortress, and the Palace of Charles V. The Gardens & Alcazaba ticket covers the same areas except the Nasrid Palaces. If it's your first visit, we strongly recommend the General ticket — the Nasrid Palaces are the highlight of the Alhambra.

As far ahead as possible. The Alhambra limits entry to just 6,600 visitors per day, and Nasrid Palace time slots sell out weeks to months in advance — especially during spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). Morning slots are always the first to go. Bookings can be made up to one year ahead.

Yes. When booking the Alhambra General ticket, you select your preferred Nasrid Palace entry time. Slots run every 30 minutes during opening hours. We recommend morning slots for the best light and fewer crowds, but book early as these fill up first.

No. Simply show the PDF on your phone at the entrance gate. We recommend saving it for offline access in case of weak signal on the Alhambra hill.

Nasrid Palace entry is strictly timed. If you miss your slot, you will not be allowed to enter. The official recommendation is to arrive at the Alhambra complex at least one hour before your Nasrid Palace time to allow for walking from the entrance to the palaces. The rest of the monument — Generalife, Alcazaba, and Palace of Charles V — can be visited at any time during opening hours.

Early morning (8:30–10:00 AM) offers the best light for photography and smaller crowds in the Nasrid Palaces. Late afternoon (after 4:00 PM in summer) provides beautiful golden light. Midday tends to be the most crowded and hottest period.

No. Children aged 0–2 enter free of charge and do not need an advance booking. Their entry pass is issued directly at the monument's ticket office on the day of your visit.
